Sigma Sigma Sigma
Twin Cities Alumnae Chapter

Celebrating 51 Years of Minnesota Sisterhood  1957 - 2008

Twin Cities Alumna Chapter (TCAC) exists to allow Tri Sigma women the opportunity for a lifetime of involvement, fun, friendship, sisterhood & community service in Minneapolis/St. Paul, Minnesota & the surrounding communities.

Sigma Sigma Sigma was founded in 1898 at Longwood College in Farmville, VA on the principles of lifelong friendship, exemplary character and ethical conduct.

Tri Sigma is known throughout the Greek community as being an innovative and progressive organization. It is the first national sorority to adopt a zero tolerance policy on hazing; first to initiate a Chapter Accreditation program in response to the Call for Values Congruence; the first to install a chapter outside of North America, the first to colonize in Alaska, the first to implement a 6-8 week new member program; and the first to adopt a nationally recognized play therapy program for hospitalized children.

Currently, there are over 95,000 members and over 200 alumnae and collegiate chapters.  The Sorority supports play therapy for hospitalized children and assists in providing playrooms for hospitalized children in Chapel Hill, NC and Dallas, TX through funds contributed to the Sigma Sigma Sigma Foundation.

Tri Sigma strives to prepare women for life after college by advocating bonds of friendship, developing strong character in its members and advocating the highest standards of conduct.

An ALUMNA is a member of Tri Sigma who is no longer attending a college or university with a Tri Sigma chapter on the campus. She may be any age 20, 50 or 80. There are many exciting opportunities for alumnae members who stay active and involved in the Sorority.  Alumnae Chapter membership, national service and working with a collegiate chapter are just a few of the possibilities. Alumnae members who continue to participate in our National Organization find many rewards such as personal and career development, opportunity for philanthropic and community service and fellowship.

Who is she?

You may be her or she may be your friend...she's next door, down the street, across town. She's friendly. She's accepting. She's fun. She enjoys community service and helping others. She's outgoing. She likes to network with old friends and make new ones too. Today's woman has many roles that she plays in her life. She is trying to balance daily tasks and looking for outlets that will allow her to take time away from her busy schedule. Her lifestyle is constantly changing to keep up with the many demands of her career, friends and family. She is seeking in life: true friendships, warm relationships with people who care, who accept if not agree, who respect her for what she is, who are not judgemental. But most of all...she is looking that bonding experience of sisterhood.

Each of the women of Sigma Sigma Sigma have initially joined for a variety of reasons. The Twin Cities Alumnae Chapter's main goal is to encompass all of these through resourceful programming and to provide a valuable friendship network that can continue for many years to come.
